Technology that lets your staff focus on teaching.
Every minute a teacher spends fighting technology is a minute lost from learning. We give schools reliable systems, verified safeguarding and a clear digital strategy, so technology supports great teaching instead of getting in its way.
From troubleshooting to school improvement.
We support primary, secondary and special schools with the full picture: dependable day-to-day IT, the safeguarding technology KCSIE requires, and a strategy that meets the DfE Digital & Technology Standards, all costed and planned around your budget.

Frequently asked questions.
Do you support primary, secondary and special schools?
Yes. PrimaryTech supports primary, secondary and special schools, with technology and support designed to let staff focus on teaching rather than IT problems.
Can PrimaryTech help our school meet the DfE Digital and Technology Standards?
Yes. We audit your setup against the DfE Digital and Technology Standards with a RAG rating, then build a costed roadmap tied to your SFVS and total cost of ownership model, and assure it every term (Autumn for safety and risk, Spring for money and assets, Summer for impact and skills). Every school gets a digital strategy as standard, not just reactive support.
How does PrimaryTech help schools make limited budgets stretch further?
We build a costed digital roadmap tied to your SFVS and total cost of ownership model, so spending is planned across budget years. We also help schools access funding, including local ward budgets, crime prevention funding, and DfE funding such as Connect the Classroom, and procure compliantly through the CCS and Everything ICT frameworks, so every pound goes further.
Our school is struggling to meet the DfE digital standards, what should we do?
Start by understanding exactly where you stand, because the standards are broad and few schools meet them all at once. We audit your setup against the DfE Digital and Technology Standards with a clear RAG rating, so you can see what is met, what is nearly there and what needs work. But meeting the standards is about more than a checklist: our education service is built around five pillars that align to the range of DfE requirements, covering leadership and governance, safeguarding (filtering and monitoring under KCSIE), the DfE digital standards themselves, cyber security (including Cyber Essentials and managed detection meeting the DfE cyber standards), and digital literacy. From there we build a costed, prioritised roadmap tied to your budget and assure it every term, so you make steady, evidenced progress rather than facing it all at once. A free DfE Digital Standards health check is the natural first step.
What are the response times for school IT support?
For co-managed schools: Critical issues within 1 hour, High within 4 hours, Standard within 8 hours. For schools without co-management: Critical within 4 hours, High within 8 hours, Standard within 32 hours. Enhanced SLA upgrades are available.
Should our school hire IT staff or outsource?
It depends on the type of school, but for most, outsourcing or co-management is stronger than hiring alone. A primary school rarely has the budget or need for full-time IT staff, and a single hire cannot cover helpdesk, cyber security, networking, cloud and strategy. For multi-academy trusts and secondary schools, co-management is almost always stronger: your on-site staff handle day-to-day needs while we provide the specialist skills and, through our virtual CIO service, manage the full IT strategy. Either way, you get a team of skilled specialists at a lower cost than employing those multiple skills full-time, because not every school needs a full-time cyber, networking or cloud expert, but every school needs access to them.
Can you provide reliable IT so lessons are not disrupted?
Yes, that is the core of it. Proactive monitoring and maintenance keep systems running so technology does not fail mid-lesson, and when something does go wrong our education SLAs mean fast response, with Critical issues handled within 1 hour for co-managed schools. Reliable IT means staff can focus on teaching rather than troubleshooting.
Do you handle filtering and monitoring for KCSIE compliance?
Yes. We partner with Securly, Smoothwall, ClassroomCloud and other leading providers, and specialise in filtering and monitoring systems compliant with DfE standards and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). We handle the full installation, from technical setup through to user guidance, including upskilling your safeguarding team so they can use the system confidently. Because we are not tied to one product, we fit the right system to each school.
Do you support schools nationwide?
Yes. Rooted in Hull, we support schools and multi-academy trusts nationwide. Our education service is built around the DfE Digital and Technology Standards, KCSIE, filtering and monitoring, and cyber requirements, turned into one prioritised roadmap.
How does school IT support pricing work?
For schools we use a per-pupil model, giving predictable, budget-friendly costs. This is paired with a costed digital roadmap tied to your SFVS and total cost of ownership planning, so spending is planned across budget years rather than reactive.
